Why is the cost shown by myDrugCosts different from what I am quoted at the pharmacy?

myDrugCosts uses an algorithm to estimate “Your Cost” for a variety of Ways to Save on your prescription drug plan.  While you can expect the cost shown in myDrugCosts to be very close to the actual price at the pharmacy, the pharmacy is the final authority on the cost of the drug. 

Here are a few troubleshooting tips if there is a price difference between myDrugCosts and the pharmacy:

• When looking up a drug on myDrugCosts, make sure to adjust the settings for the drug’s strength, form, quantity and months of supply if necessary
• If you are on a High-deductible plan, be sure you have checked the deductible box if you have met your deductible.
• Some health plans may have different pricing for the same generic drug depending on the NDC code and manufacturer of the drug. Because each pharmacy can dispense different or even multiple NDCs for a generic drug, it is not always possible to provide an exact price in these situations.
• If you are looking at a brand drug, be sure the pharmacy is quoting you the brand price, not the generic.
